Ch-ch-changes…

So, I'm contemplating changes. The one that is in the process of happening is less on-line time. It will pretty much disappear when Pastry arrives (which, we do have a more solid date, just in time for our somewhat anniversary), as I'm on the computer just for our shared solitude moments. It also means I'll be more social, least on Saturdays and Sundays. Having gas money to go to potluck will be AWESOME!!! I'm also working on the inner workings. The sadness is going away, I'm not crying as much, but the series final of SG-1 has stuck with me since I watched it the other day. Not sure why, but it is because of the middle part. So well done to the directors on that one.

Simplification. I'm still working on it, but I never imagined how much of a mess it creates, just to get rid of stuff. Both in the apartment and in life. I'm trying to not take some things as personal as I have taken them, but finding that last thread to cut is always difficult when you don't have a magnifying glass.

Mindfulness. Been increasing this aspect, and I'm not sure if it's creating an irritation or not, because I'm finding that other people who are not as mindful are creating issues that grate on the outset and settle later. Case in point, this morning. Someone in my office dragged one of the wooden chairs across the floor with that nice loud "screeeeeeeeeeee" sound. Made me cringe because it didn't phase her at all. But hey, she thanked me for letting her use my electricity, which was cool.

Happiness. I really am happy, for the most part. I recognize things that I need to improve on, and I am working on them. My social life needs more variety, but I am getting out and being social with other people in one-on-one situations. And I'm being useful. Helped a friend put together her bathroom furniture over the weekend, and it was awesome. Have a class to take tomorrow, with friends, after working on a friend, so lots of friends there. 🙂 Upcoming is my yoga class' monthly gathering and book club, which I get to help with, so thrilled with that. I love me some book clubs, especially yoga centric book clubs. Just need to go grab my copy of the book so I can get started. I'm also helping out at grove, as I've been asked to co-facilitate the upcoming ritual. I was pretty nervous after saying yes, but at the same time, I'm very comfortable with the idea. Which, I should be, as my grove position requires me to be the "back-up", so to speak. So time to step up. I'm hoping this will help me in being more "on time" with my responsibilities and stuff I say I will do. I'm pretty bad about coming up with the "back out" reasons, and I need to stop that.

Funny story about that…

I came to another realization today, some of my anti-social behaviour is due to feelings of inadequacy. Not sure where they come from, as I was always a shy child, so my silence is not from there. I do recall many a time growing up, and as an adult, where I felt like I was being dismissed or just where my crappy timing and organizational skills fall flat due to nightmarish schedules I have to work with.

Where I feel inadequate is mostly when I try to do things for others…meaning, parties, gatherings of some sort, whatever. They almost always seem to fall flat (with exception to the annual PP gathering). Other times, it's in trying to express things. I sometimes feel like I'm talking to a wall, or being dismissed for no reason whatsoever. Anyway, that wasn't a fun thing to realize today. I really wonder why I bother, sometimes. I feel like I'm stuck in some BS competition and I'm the only one not competing.

Maybe I'm just going through withdrawal from classes being over, but I'm not in a happy place right now.

House stuffs…

So, I’m mostly done with the closet. Spent the last couple of weeks painting and installing the top rails. One wall is done, just needs to properly be divvied up so two people can use it. Then come the drawers and whatnot. Otherwise, it’s quite useful now, vs the “so useless I don’t want to go in it” point when I started. I need to head into the container store and do the actual drawing out of it, so I can at least plan for what I’ll need going forward.

The downside, is that the renovation I wanted to do, will not be happening because I can’t move the door into the bedroom. I can do a sliding door where it’s at, which will work and will still allow me to do the walls that I want. It’s gonna look cool, and at least I save money by not having to move the door. 😀

I’ll post pictures later, probably on FB, not sure if I’ll be able to post them here, though.

Atlanta 0 – Freakchylde 1

The city dismissed my arrest this morning via something in latin meaning the documents (my documents and the city ordinance) prove I’m innocent. Was fun – not. Anyway, my lawyer gave me a copy of the email from the solicitor for the city saying she was dismissing and why. So the next time Moron with a badge shows up, I can point it out to him and save myself $2475.00.

That said, I’m reading the Upanishads, lots to ponder and a lot to meditate on. It’s awesome.

Since FB won’t let me post this…

Here’s the bullshit response I received from Sen. Johnny Isakson regarding “Protect IP” and how it’s not trying to enforce US law on the rest of the world and how it somehow will be beneficial to US citizens.

Dear Ms. *******:

Thank you for contacting me regarding intellectual property theft. I appreciate hearing from you and I appreciate the opportunity to respond.

S.968, the Preventing Real Online Threats to Economic Creativity and Theft of Intellectual Property (PROTECT IP) Act of 2011, was introduced by Senator Leahy (D-VT) on May 12, 2011, and was referred to the Senate Judiciary Committee. On May 26, 2011, it was reported out of Committee and is currently pending in the Senate. The bill targets websites, particularly those registered outside of the United States, which are “dedicated to infringing activities.” These rogue websites typically offer unauthorized downloading or streaming of copyrighted content or the sale of counterfeit goods including music, movies, and pharmaceutical drugs.

Websites targeted by this bill are foreign owned and outside the reach of U.S. laws despite the fact U.S. intellectual property is being infringed upon and U.S. consumers are the targets. Rogue websites cost American workers jobs and cost businesses millions of dollars in lost revenue. As online technology and commerce advances, we must see to it that injured parties have the ability to stop infringers from profiting from counterfeit products. For example, a victim of infringement will have the authority to file a civil action against the owner or registrant of a rogue site. If an order is granted by the court, third parties will be required to stop processing payments from the infringing sites, therefore, preventing infringers from collecting payments. I will work to ensure that our laws our modernized to protect intellectual property, and will keep your thoughts on this bill in mind should it come before the Senate for a vote.

Thank you again for contacting me.

Sincerely,
Johnny Isakson
United States Senator

Fun stuff…

I signed up for the Yoga Journal 21 day challenge and started a team for my Yoga school. It’s been fun, as I’ve already set some personal goals for myself. The one that is easiest, so far, is the unplugging for at least an hour every day. The 2 cups of coffee is easier on work days than on workless days, right now I’m on cup 3, about to hit cup 4, but it’s all decaf. I would say that I’m going on week 2 of caffeine free, but I did have a cup of caffeinated tea on Friday afternoon. Didn’t do much to me, but I am liking being able to drink coffee all day without getting the jitters and sweats. It’s not on my list, but I do need to start getting out more. I’m planning on an afternoon at the mall, even though I won’t be buying anything.

I’m trying to be more social, and the universe knows exactly where to hit me to make sure I stay home. In class, we’ve joked about the universe putting adversity in front of us, to make us change regardless. Unfortunately, the universe has not realized that no gas money = no driving long distances to be social. I had everything set then Sprint decides to send a last minute text message saying “Your over due amount has to be paid by 12/4”. Which didn’t leave enough gas money. Sucks, because I had food all ready to go. 😦 At least I’ll be here for New Year’s, this year. Can’t wait to see everyone again, and next year I’m going to work on one-on-ones with friends for lunch or dinner.

I’m officially down to training weight. It makes me happy, and I’ve dropped on my body fat ratio, too. Reducing my stress level was a big factor in that (which goes along with the reduction in caffeine). It’s been wonderful for me and this last month I’ve pretty much been a lazy slob (well, not so much a slob, as I’ve been cleaning up the house, too) but I’ve definitely been lazy. Given what the rest of this year has been, I’m not beating up on myself, too much.

Also, I’m going to be in Dallas/Ft. Worth from the 22nd to the 30th, so if any locals want to meet up, let me know. Otherwise, gonna have fun with the family.

Woohoo!!

The internet at the office is up and running, figured out the networking panel so all I need now are more cables, and an extension cord. Makes me happy.

Today is gonna be pretty good. Just need to run a couple of errands this afternoon then off to yoga and a mentor meeting. I’d like to get my habits down so I can head to my Kundalini yogini’s new spot. Life is just so much better when I see her once a week. I’m ready to start getting the office a bit more organized. Looked at pictures of other therapist offices, so I think I’m going to go back to that. I feel like my work room is too “corporate”. So, pretty curtains, since they’re the easiest. 😀

My mentor group is next up for presentations on the throat chakra. We have several ideas on what all we want to do for it, but we’re going to sit down and be more concrete tonight. I’m excited!!!!

Moving in the right direction…

Today was awesome. I had a new client come in from one of my ad deals, she wanted a Thai session. I love that modality and I’m really sad that not a lot of people want it. But we talked most of the time and I was so in tune with what was going on, I was able to just move her into each position and was able to note when she was sinking into that place, where releases were going to happen. The best part, is she walked out balanced and you could see it in her physical stance. I LOVE IT! Also finished stitching up the turbo pup’s bed, that he destroyed yesterday. Not completely like new, but the stuffing won’t fall out of it anytime soon, unless he takes his claws to it again.

I’m also learning how the office is networked. Had the internet installed this week so I just need to go invest in some network cables to get the outlets to work – I hope. I love that this place came pre-networked. Now to just install all the wall heating units and the office is completely on its way!!!
