Scorpio this week:

Happy Valentine Daze, Scorpio! The three love offerings I have might be a challenge for you to receive in the same generous spirit with which I’m giving them. Nevertheless, the astrological omens suggest this is one of those rare times when you can truly benefit from their bracing advice. So here are my gifts, starting with an insight from author Zora Neale Hurston: “Love makes your soul crawl out from its hiding place.” Your second oracle comes from writer James Baldwin: “Love takes off masks that we fear we cannot live without and know we cannot live within.” My third offering is from novelist Iris Murdoch: “Love is the difficult realization that something other than oneself is real.”

Ok. Well, here’s my take….Love makes you do stupid things that you’d never consider doing otherwise. Love is a sweet torture that can devour the weak-willed. And last but not least….Love can make you blind.

Not that I’m cynical about love, I wallow in it as much as possible (as most of you have noticed), but I despise Val’s Day. But I will say this, for this time of year….Why spend one day being sweet and romantic to a lover, when you have 364 other days to show it as well? And plus, it makes getting into nice restaurants, like my fav, a pain in the fucking ass.

I get the strangest things in my guestbook….

Thank you for the very helpful resources you make available. As a House Group Leader in our local evangelical church I find them very useful. God Bless you in the work you are involved in for Him in your part of the harvest field. Good luck! Do not are ill !! 😉

As usual, I walked away from laundering the cats with at least one well placed scratch. Thankfully the other two are easy. Guess that’s what I get for trying to wash a feisty pussy.

In other news, I’ve accomplished most of the laundry and i cleaned/organized my pants drawer (underwear is next, and yes industrialreich, you may help me with that one). Is it pathetic that my drawer is now organized by BDU/Pants, and then by country of pattern origin? Oh well, least I can find everything, now to just get a better version of Marpat pants. The civie version was poorly constructed.

Scorpio for this week:

For the first time in thousands of years, grass is now growing year-round in Antarctica. Winter temperatures have risen nine degrees Fahrenheit in the last thirty years, allowing wild lawns to spread where there were once ice sheets. I see a comparable metamorphosis for you in the coming weeks, Scorpio. A once-barren or frozen landscape in your psyche will show signs of vibrant life. A part of your world that has been inhospitable will welcome you

Funny, and to think I thanked my Evil Fraternal Twin for facilitating the spark that brought me back to life. *giggles* And everything else that has been reminding me what it’s like to be living inside. Talk about timing.

So, the Iraqi election the other day is supposedly a farce. Well, let’s face it, had Saddam stayed around, they wouldn’t have had them – as his idea of an election is everyone has to vote for him, as he’s the only candidate and there isn’t a line for a write-in. Yeah, things ain’t grand over there, but a good number of the people that lived there pretty much told the insurgents to fuck-off. How’d they do this? Well, they voted, and they voted in larger numbers than we’d ever get over here, despite being told that assisting the US in instituting a democratic republic would result in death. They went to the polls anyway. I’m proud of those people, and they should be proud of themselves. They know, that getting on their feet is the way to assist us in leaving their country. They’re starting to see that giving in to the insurgents would not benefit them at all, in fact, I wouldn’t be too surprised if us leaving would result in larger civilian casualties from the insurgents going after those who want to continue the path that they are now on, towards a democratic republic. With that said, some blogs for you all, please check through their links as well (these will open in new windows)
