Scorpio (October 23-November 21)
It’s quite possible that the nature of consciousness is in the midst of a fundamental transformation. The human race seems to be getting more empathetic, more compassionate, and even more psychic. Many of us are having experiences that were previously thought to be the province of mystics, such as epiphanies that give us visceral perceptions of the interconnectedness of all life. Even as some traditional religions lose members and devolve into cartoony fundamentalism, there are ever-increasing numbers of intelligent seekers who cultivate a more discerning spiritual awareness outside the decrepit frameworks. If you haven’t been on this bandwagon, Scorpio, now’s a good time to jump on. If you’re already on board, get ready for an accelerated ride.

Kinda funny…I downloaded Celestine Prophecy the other day, watched it twice. Definitely a campy movie, and while I get the points trying to be made during it…..it was kinda funny in how it wasn’t really an adventure that grabbed the viewer and pulled them in. Kept things quite separate. Decent movie on paper….
House stuff is still going, the Italian mafia met me there yesterday to inspect the work of the non-Italians. He was impressed the unit is still functioning, but said it’ll probably have to be replaced before winter, as next winter will probably be colder than this winter (it’s operating at 60%, and according to him it’s too small for my unit). Good for me, in that winter is almost over, and if trend continues from last year, I probably won’t have to turn on the A/C this summer. Parents are packing all the stuff to bring me, including stuffs for psychosu and moonbird (and yes, we need to do tea, if I can ever wake up early enough). I spent most of yesterday window shopping, to try and get ideas for stuff I like, plus catch-up/paint shopping with psychosu. I do have some posters I’m going to be getting rid of, as well as poster frames. If anyone needs something like that, please let me know. They’re in great shape and I’d hate to have to throw them away.
I went to my first Judo class on Tuesday, I’m still sore, in all the right core places. Tonight is Jiu Jitsu, which I can’t wait to get back to training. My goal is to be back to smaller tournaments by the end of the year, Pan-Ams and Nationals next year, European nationals and Worlds the year after. I’m hoping to get back to Denmark this year too, miss the place. Love going to France, but definitely miss Denmark, and need to hop over to Sweden and back up to Norway. I think next year, I’ll see if I can get back to Tuska in Finland. Of course, that all depends on Pastry’s travel restrictions, but we have to get to that point first.
Welcome back! How was your trip?
House buying is a pain, but in the end (most of the time if you make some really good decisions and find some really good deals) it is really wort it.
Inspectors and bankers suck. There is no way around that. And then you have to deal with people telling you what “you want to do is..” and spew off unwanted advice.
Seems like you have a pretty good handle on things though.
Glad your Judo class went well.

Heh, don’t leave till the end of April. All travel and spending, in general, has been delayed till after closing. I’m happy that I’m finally buying a place, this apartment complex has solidified that I don’t want to deal with bullshit anymore. Finding a new apartment and moving into it will bring more bullshit and higher rent. This way, I’m ultimately saving money. I did get lucky, because my agent was in the mortgage field, so he was able to coach me on what I should expect from a lending agent and various other stuffs…he’s a no-bullshit guy too (part of the Italian mafia), one of his friends is my new mortgage guy and he’s gone way out of his way for me to make sure I understand EVERYTHING about the paperwork. My lawyer is awesome because I only need to talk to him when he needs something, and also sat down and explained EVERYTHING. Inspection, no problem! The inspector got there 30 minutes before our scheduled appointment, by the time I got there he had already gone through everything and just needed to show me what he found. The only bullshit was Chase (going to start researching alternative merchant providers, as well as business banks to take all my accounts from them) and the selling agent, in the beginning. The selling agent has since had a fire lit under his ass (+1 to the Italian mafia) and is playing along. There are only a few issues that might prove a post-purchase headache, ceiling in the dining room and saving up for the HVAC. Deck is on schedule to be replaced in the next couple of months, so that’s a furniture purchase that I can hold off on. Parents are coming with stuff and to oversee the contractors, when I’m working and to set up the ‘garden’. I hate to say that I love having ‘secretaries’, but it really does help out and I can’t wait to be able to pay someone a livable wage to keep up with my stuff.
