Women in Politics

Ok, now, I’m all about having women in politics. But fuck! Mosely-Braun support?!?!?!? Seriously, this is my major issue with most women’s groups. They’re in such heat to get women into office (and the presidency) that they don’t bother to give a shit about who they’re actually putting in there. My Scotsman says welcome to politics, and I wish we could go back to the day we had good women who were worthy of running (Geraldine Farrar anyone?). But no! We get stuck with Mosely-Braun. If we want people to take us seriously, then why the fucking hell do we not be more specific in who we let represent us?

  1. because right now it’s not normal politics, it’s the politics of gender. They feel that they have to defeat the men and install thier own brand of fascism. The women who are trying for the presidency are merely trying to be the first, I really do not trust that they have the networking to truly get the job done and done right. I am confident that there are women out there that are capable of holding the presidency, but noone in their right mind would want the presidency right now. Although, personally, I’d rather have Mosley-Braun than McKinney or the Shrub.

    1. No, most of the women that end up in contention are just being used as pawns of the greater ‘good’. Given Mosely-Braun’s financial abilities (she had mismanagement of funds tacked onto her term in IL). In all honesty, if I’m going to have a woman in the presidency, I’d rather it be Ann Richards. Screw race, I want someone who’s proven herself. And while I’m quite sure there are several black/hispanic/asian/etc women who probably have, I’ve seen Ann work, and I’ll be damned if she’d be a puppet.
