Given that we all know the Hamas doesn’t want peace, I’m now of the belief that neither does Israel. So far, they’ve managed to do more damage than good via attacks that hurt more than they kill. Not to mention, they gave Abbas and ultimatum, reign in Hamas or all’s off. So what do they do? Make things more difficult. I mean, you actually get ‘somewhere’ and then you go attack someone to “pre-empt” their attack, which then escalates things. Then you tell the person who’s trying to reign these guys in that he has to deal with it. What bullshit. I say we wipe both sides of the fence off the earth. Fucking idiots with ‘power’.

I was sort of thinking the same thing yesterday. Bush has this big father figure/God complex going – why doesn’t he just get in there and take the whole damn place for his own as long as he’s busy invading the middle east. Where’s King Solomon when you need him?

    1. Well, King Solomon is slightly dusty and I highly doubt the Shrublette would be able to glean anything from his wisdom, as that requires some vestige of intelligence. As for the God complex, he should have read Oedipus, I believe there’s going to be some hubris passed around here soon, hope he likes the taste of it.

      1. On a totally different note, there was a news article about the Shrub having an accident with a Segway scooter. Too bad it wasn’t like the Smegway scooters out of Sluggy Freelance…highly explosive if they tip over.

  2. What’s going on in the Mideast right now looks like an advanced case of organ rejection. Israel was transplanted onto a region with a very different tissue type, and the region has been trying to get rid of the offending limb ever since. The problem for us is that Israel’s tissue type is civilized, and the regional norm there is xenophobic barbarism. There is no good solution.

    1. good analogy, however, i don’t think ‘civilized’ is the word to use. having better access to better weaponry might be a sign of civilization, but it doesn’t work when you deny a level playing field to those whose weapons you take away (hence the use to suicide attacks). i don’t find anything really civilized about israel, at the moment, then again, i don’t find much civilized about the u.s., sometimes. but yes, there is no ‘good’ solution. even if the arab world would be willing to acknowledge israel’s existance, should a palestinian state be created. all i can see is them perpetuating the ‘glass’ ceiling for the purpose of crashing it down. some people need to feel victimized and have a fight. *shrugs* 🙂
