Ok, apparently today, or sometime this week is “Life Day”, as declared by the Shrub. What does this mean? Well, we’re celebrating life and the current administration’s adament declaration to oust a woman’s right to choose whether she carries a pregancy to term or not. While it’s nice, it’s also a slap in the face to women, whether they have the potential to choose and abortion or not, in the future. I, personally, probably wouldn’t have one. However, I’ll be damned if I curse a woman who might to carrying a child she doesn’t want. I’m of the firm opinion that the emotional state of the mother during pregnancy effects the child as it’s developing and having a mother that doesn’t want that child in her is of no benefit to that child. Not only that, I can also forsee the fact I’ll probably have to sue to government in order to have my tubes tied in 10 years with the current climate building. Bush has further pushed the need for abstinance, well, what about consenting adults who are married? If they don’t want children, is he advocating that they never have sex? I should hope not because he’s putting too much faith in the misguided concept that Mary remained a “virgin” (in modern sense) after she married Joseph. So, I guess we’ll be going back to the ancient methods of abortant herb mixtures, or maybe he’s looking for voluntary population control via back-alley abortions with coathangers. Sheesh, I could go on and on about this for hours and I still don’t think I’d get all my opinions about this out, even the non-fact based opinions. I hate my government’s current administration, have I said that yet today?
