Yeah, gotta love tourists on a day with small attendance. Especially when they decide to ask if I’m actually working my day job while sitting there, then mention I’m supposed to be part of the slacker generation. Last I checked, Gen X was the slacker generation when we were in school, since we’ve all graduated we’ve been pretty damned productive and done quite a bit with entrepreneurship. Otherwise, we’ve been pretty good for our companies. Yes, there are slackers, they exist in every generation and all walks of life. To quote eternalredneck, “slacking doesn’t pay the bills.” Yes, I work every day I can, I slip in self-time where I can because right now, getting on my feet is more important and that priority gets me through my week to the vacation I’m taking at the end of August. Once I’m on my feet, I’ll be more than happy to work in more me time.
In other news, I have a nifty new shiny on my ear. It’s nice and bright pink. One of my Elders gave me a nifty psych mag last night at our women’s night. There are some interesting articles that I can’t wait to read about emotions. Also got the Ok to put a Celtic-style sweat lodge on my part of the grove property. I honestly can’t wait till we have the land, gives me the shivers thinking of that place and having all the magic around me. *grin*
If you need any help with the sweatlodge. Lemme know. I would ove to build one of those.
And I also have 2 new shiny’s in my ears as well. I bought a pair o smoked glass claws. I think they are 2 or 0 guage but I am not sure right yet. But they fit all the way in. Tee hee

Thanks!! It’ll be a bit before it actually gets built, but I’ll give you a call when we start work on it.

Pagan property is great as long as you don’t live there. I used to live on a property owned by a pagan group, and to quote one of the other members: “it must be like living over the pagan equivalent of a biker bar”. It was a very nice place to call home, until all the pagan people would come over. Then, all the peaceful vibes would run out the back door with the drumming and chanting and chatter. ugh.

heh, i can see that. basically, we’re all buying land together, so we’ll all own our own property with communal property. for the most part, it’ll be retreat/weekend land, not 100% live-there land. and festivals will be few, thank god. the plus side, is that my grovemates are a bit anal on privacy and quiet time. sorry you got stuck with that noise, really had to suck.

was telling me about a book he read once. I wish I could remember the name of it. But it was about the different generational patterns and such. It also talked about so-called “lost generations”, and noted that each generation that was deemed as lost in its early days, actually turned out to be one of the most influential.
It also said Generation X is a lost generation. I look forward to seeing what we can do!
