There was an odd quiet about the land, in the shrouded darkness. A peace that was very rare in these parts. Noises muffled against the soundproofing blanket of SNOW!!!!!!
Yeah, I’m a northern girl. I miss the years I was able to run out on the quad of ISU at midnight on the first snow. I was the first one to make snow angels and place my footprints across the untouched blanket. It was wonderful.

actually, no. i never managed to get that far, because the ISU quad has too many trees and prevented enough of a snow cover to really do a good snow man. now, out in my area of campus where there were no trees……but alas, i never made one in college. 😦
