The Sex Positive Bill of Rights

We hold these truths to be self evident; that all people are sexual beings, that pleasure is more significant to human sexuality than procreation, that the range of human sexual expression is broad, that sexual expression changes throughout one’s life, and that the guilt and shame created by the repression of human sexuality is harmful and impedes the growth of consciousness in humans.

We therefore declare these rights for all people:

• The right to freely explore their personal sexuality as long as no one else is physically harmed or intentionally intimidated.

• The right to freely explore consensual sexuality with other legal adults capable of informed consent.

• The right to refuse to participate or cease their participation in any sexual situation at any time.

• The right to exchange sexual services for compensation with other legal adults capable of informed consent.

• The right to create, sell, distribute, purchase and possess sexually explicit materials, devices and objects.

• The right to access current, medically sound, unbiased information on sexually transmitted diseases.

• The right to access current, medically sound, unbiased information on all methods of birth control.

• The right to enjoy treatment for significant others equal to that of heterosexual married couples.

• The right to have their sexual orientation treated with the same respect as race, religion or other attributes.
