Month: January 2003

This is cool. Took Alpine to the vet today and a breeder was there. She’s right, I have me a little seamouser on my hands. At any rate, what I mean is he’s a breed called Maine Coon, nope, no papers because his family got left in a trailer park (mum and all kits). I always thought he was a Himalayan, but the marking are obviously Coon (there’s a pic of him on my fam pics page), it also explains why he likes to hunt the little mousies I bring home for him to play with. The breed itself was used on sea ships to keep the rat/mouse population down. Which makes sense because he’s 4 years old and not full grown yet, his paws still tower over his body. But, that’s all.

Ok, I just heard something slightly scary from a former presidential address to the public….this isn’t a quote, just a paraphrase:

There are those who say a woman has a right to determine what happens to her body, but doesn’t the child have a higher right?

Reason it scares me, as I stated last week, the emotional status of the mother becomes and issue. Not to mention the fact that fetus transplants aren’t an option. For those who are pro-life and pro-force-your-opinion-on-others’-bodies, if we could do fetus transplants from pregnant women who either can’t, or won’t, carry the pregnancy to term….would you be willing to carry the child and care for the child after it’s born? If no, then quit forcing your opinion on the bodies of other women who don’t want another life growing in their bodies. The thing that I find the most disgusting about the vocal pro-lifers is the fact that they don’t give a shit what happens to the child after it’s born. Ya know, kind of how McCorvey said the pro-choice movement treated her during the trials, they didn’t care about her well-being afterwards, just long enough for her to be a posterchild. That’s what each fetus has become to the people I’m talking about, just a posterchild and nothing more.

Ok, I just saw the most disgusting thing on T.V….
I was against cosmetic surgery before, but WE was showing footage of a tummy tuck. At first I thought it was something dealing with whales or something, but then they started talking about creating a belly button. EEEEEEEWWWWWWWWWWWW! I’ve always prided myself on being able to stomach some pretty disgusting stuff, but why the fuck would anyone want to go through that, much less have it displayed on T.V.? It was disgusting, have I said that yet?

Ok, got some stuff done today. 30 min. of yoga and treadmilled for approx. 2 mi. got the vet appointment for Alpine, rearranged the living room and cleaned up the cat hair from the carpet. Not much done on the business, but tomorrow is bank day so I have to get up and dress up to meet bank people then it’s application fill-out and return. Next week starts crunch week, my plan next week is to get a full schedule going on a daily basis. The goal schedule is as follows:

2 mi. walk
1 hr. yoga
1 hr. meditation
3-4 hr. business, whether performing bodywork, studying, or mgmt stuff.

Which, btw, I’m registered for National Boards. Yeah!!!!

Ok, apparently today, or sometime this week is “Life Day”, as declared by the Shrub. What does this mean? Well, we’re celebrating life and the current administration’s adament declaration to oust a woman’s right to choose whether she carries a pregancy to term or not. While it’s nice, it’s also a slap in the face to women, whether they have the potential to choose and abortion or not, in the future. I, personally, probably wouldn’t have one. However, I’ll be damned if I curse a woman who might to carrying a child she doesn’t want. I’m of the firm opinion that the emotional state of the mother during pregnancy effects the child as it’s developing and having a mother that doesn’t want that child in her is of no benefit to that child. Not only that, I can also forsee the fact I’ll probably have to sue to government in order to have my tubes tied in 10 years with the current climate building. Bush has further pushed the need for abstinance, well, what about consenting adults who are married? If they don’t want children, is he advocating that they never have sex? I should hope not because he’s putting too much faith in the misguided concept that Mary remained a “virgin” (in modern sense) after she married Joseph. So, I guess we’ll be going back to the ancient methods of abortant herb mixtures, or maybe he’s looking for voluntary population control via back-alley abortions with coathangers. Sheesh, I could go on and on about this for hours and I still don’t think I’d get all my opinions about this out, even the non-fact based opinions. I hate my government’s current administration, have I said that yet today?

Ok, well, I’m back in glorious Atlanta, safe and sound. The visit to the ‘rents went well, not too much “discussion”. Muchos Kudos to the Moonbird for being brave enough to watch the 3 terrors and even clean a litter box, very very brave for that one. So, the rest of you all will have to wait till Wednesday or next Saturday to see me due to the fun stuff I have to get caught up on. *snuggles*

OK, so i can still do cool gymnastics things at the gym. My body is sooooo hating me for playing too much last night. It’s nice to know I can still do giants on bars and hand-fronts on the tumble trak, but yoga has not kept my muscles ready for that fun. 😛

Grrrr. Froeliche Neue Jahre everyone. At any rate, I’m watching the Buffy marathon because I have nothing else to do. Starting next week, I really need to re-evaluate things and add some spice to my life. Needless to say, I’m bored off my normal ass and need something else. I need to find more concerts to go to.
