So, today I got to do energy work part 2. All went well until the polarity 1 course this afternoon. Yep, I’m a pagan, no, I don’t believe in polarity therapy. IMO Polarity therapy is the psychology of the massage field and in agreement with my priest, it’s the layman’s way of not having to go the long route and get trained in Reiki. The westernization of eastern medicine. Lovely concept. Well, to add to that, the instructor was one I really didn’t like. She has this lovely little habit of not actually answering the question. She spends more times running circles around the subject than an Irish Bard telling a story. Basically, she said that we are welcome to advocate and “suggest” that our clients change their diet to reflect the Polarity lifestyle. Well, one minute problem….the Ethics code that certified and licensed massage therapists have to abide by specifically states that nutritional council is outside our scope of practice and can potentially result in the loss of our license. I wonder if she’s read the ethics code since she graduated. At any rate, I felt more relaxed after the class, but that’s because of all the rocking. I didn’t feel any more balanced than I did before the class, but that’s because my Therapeutic touch partner did an excellent job and made me feel balanced again. *sigh* And I still need to work on that meditation. Maybe I’ll do that tomorrow night after yoga. I get me time, so I guess I should start using it more wisely.
